With fast convenient road and rail links to central London, Stansted is the ideal FBO location. Sited exclusively away from the main terminal, it has its own fast access roads and secure aircraft parking for even the largest jets.

In 2006, Stansted Airport completed a £30 million nine-month project to its 3048m x 61m runway.

Over 35,000 tonnes of asphalt have been used to complete the project. The type of surface used is very different from that used on roads as it has special grooves that help the aircraft tyres perform better in wet weather conditions. At the same time as the re-surfacing works, engineers replaced more than 1,000 runway lights and installed half a million metres of electrical cabling.

In March 2009, Stansted was honoured to play host to Barack Obama's first ever visit to the UK as President, and was the 'airport of choice' for so many of the delegations attending the G20 summit.
